Resilience in Croatian Islands

Communities across the world are being hit by an unprecedented wave of disasters. From hurricanes in the United States, earthquakes in New Zealand, wildfires and floods in Australia, and more recently the COVID-19 global pandemic. It seems barely a week goes by without a new disaster leaving more communities on the road to recovery. Island communities are particularly vulnerable in many ways.

In this episode we speak with Maja Jurisic, Project Manager for the Island Movement on the Island of Solta which is part of the Croation islands. Her organization is focused on sustainable development in the region through community building, education and strategic partnerships. Maja describes about some of the initiatives they are working on to ensure this region remains sustainable and thriving in the future.
