Promoting Sustainable Energy in Aruba

Promoting sustainable energy in Aruba is a priority for Dagmara Avanindra.

Communities across the world are being hit by an unprecedented wave of disasters. From hurricanes in the United States, earthquakes in New Zealand, wildfires and floods in Australia, and more recently the COVID-19 global pandemic. It seems barely a week goes by without a new disaster leaving more communities on the road to recovery.

In this episode we speak with Dagmara Avanindra, Founder & CEO of DAVA Energy Solutions, based in Aruba, about how she is helping to create renewable, sustainable energy solutions to support Caribbean resiliency.

As a hardware engineer from Silicon Valley, Dagmara appreciates the power of technology. She decided to apply her tech knowledge and expertise to making renewable energy more accessible, affordable and sustainable particularly in the Caribbean region, since islands have a unique opportunity to move towards 100% renewable energy, guiding the rest of the world on that journey. Because it is critical to have all key stakeholders on board, Dagmara focuses a wholistic approach of delivering scalable clean energy solutions by working with regulators, governments, private sector and knowledge centers, which results in executed utility scale energy projects.
