Beat the heat this summer with some great online tips.
Heat related deaths and illnesses are preventable. Despite this, over 600 people in the US are killed by extreme heat every year. Heat exhaustion or heat stroke, happens when the body can’t properly cool itself by sweating. During extreme heat, a person’s body temperature rises faster than it can cool itself down—potentially causing damage to the brain and other vital organs.
A great resource I found is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website- where they have some great tips, information, and resources to help you “Beat the Heat” this summer.
So check out this website-- stay safe…. and cool, this summer. https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/extremeheat/heat_guide.html.
